Mr. Vincent A. Rizzo (Non-Executive Chairman)

Mr. Vincent A. Rizzo joined Barclays Bank in July 1946 and served the Barclays Group in Malta, UK and USA for thirty years which included a short period at the successor bank – Mid-Med Bank Ltd. (now HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c.) in a senior management position.

In 1976 he set up Financial + Investment Services Ltd. and pioneered its development through the years until retirement from full-time activity some years ago. He continues his involvement in financial services as non-executive chairman of Rizzo, Farrugia & Co. (Stockbrokers) Ltd.

Mr. Vincent J. Rizzo ACIB (Managing Director)

Mr. Vincent J. Rizzo has been connected with the local financial scene since 1966 when he joined Barclays Bank. After a period of eleven years service in Banking during which he was elected an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Financial Services, he joined Financial + Investment Services Ltd, the family business set up to provide investment portfolio management and related financial services.

He is familiar with a wide range of financial and investment products available in both the domestic and major foreign currencies and has wide experience in investment administration and portfolio management. In 1988, the Minister of Finance appointed him as a member of the Committee advising the Maltese Government on the setting up of a Stock Exchange in Malta and in 1991 he was appointed a member on the first Council of the Malta Stock Exchange, a position he relinquished in June 1994.

In 1991, he set up Rizzo, Farrugia & Co. (Stockbrokers) Ltd. acting as Managing Director. The company was one of the first stockbroking firms to obtain a licence from the Malta Stock Exchange.

Mr. Vincent E. Rizzo joined Rizzo, Farrugia & Co. (Stockbrokers) Ltd (RFC) in July 1998 after graduating with an honours degree in Banking & Finance at the University of Malta. Upon commencement of employment with the company, Vincent’s first task was the setting up of a corporate website and a fully-fledged Research Department. RFC was subsequently the first Maltese stockbroking firm providing research to investors on most locally listed equities.

Between December 1998 and September 2006, Vincent was also involved as a member of the team which was appointed for a 10-year period as a Sub-Advisor to a number of locally-managed collective investment schemes. Apart from the detailed research and analysis undertaken for this institutional client reporting to the UK Investment Advisors, Vincent was also invited to deliver a number of presentations at the SICAV Annual General Meetings and other seminars organised by the fund managers.

In 2003, Vincent was appointed to the Board of Directors and became an Accredited Representative of the Malta Stock Exchange. Vincent was assigned the role of compliance officer, head of IT, business development, human resources and customer relationship management.

From 2003 to date, Vincent has also been actively involved in the College of Stockbroking firms, the local association of Stockbrokers currently composed of 11 members. He acted as Secretary to the College for a two-year period from 2004-2006 and has since been appointed Chairman to the College, a position held since April 2007.

Vincent has also been actively involved together with other members of the executive team on a number of assignments of a corporate finance nature. These also involved large placements of shares for institutional clients and other corporate advisory services such as acting as Sponsor to companies seeking a listing of debt or equity on the Malta Stock Exchange.

Since July 2010, Vincent has been appointed independent non-executive Director and member of the Investment Committee of Dominion Global Trends SICAV plc, a self-managed Maltese UCITS licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority and having two sub-funds – GT Consumer and GT Strategic (www.dominion-funds.com).


Mr-Edward-P-Rizzo

Mr. Edward P. Rizzo BCom (Hons)

Mr. Edward P. Rizzo joined Rizzo, Farrugia & Co. (Stockbrokers) Ltd. in August 2000 after a one-year spell with Economic & Management Consultancy Services Ltd., working as a business analyst. He graduated with honours in Economics from the University of Malta in 1999 and now heads the Research & Analysis Unit at RFC specialising in Equity Research.

In May 2000, Edward obtained the International Certificate for Financial Advisers from the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK), and in May 2001 completed the Financial Services Foundation Certificate at the Malta International Training Centre. Edward is an Accredited Representative of the Malta Stock Exchange. In April 2007 Edward was appointed a Director and a Member of the Investment Committee of Vltava Fund SICAV plc, a professional investor fund listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.
