Malta International Airport plc - Interim Directors’ Statement

On 13 November Malta International Airport plc issued its Interim Directors’ Statement in which it explained that since the publication of the interim financial statements as at 30 June 2007, the financial position of the Company has remained sound and the performance has been better than expectations. MIA stated that the increase in passenger movements since January 2007 has been material and has made a significant contribution to the Company’s revenues. This trend is expected to continue at least until the end of 2007.

Meanwhile, the Company announced that it has embarked on an ambitious programme of enhancement to the Air Terminal building which will increase the passenger flow capacity of the Terminal as well as improve facilities for the passengers and visitors to the airport.

The Directors stated that subject to any unforeseen circumstances, the Company’s performance for 2007 is expected to show a significant improvement over that of 2006 and this to be reflected in the financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2007.
