MedservRegis plc – New Contract Awards & Middle East Business Update
Following last week's article detailing the performance of the S&P 500 index in 2025, it is worth devoting time to review the developments across the European equity markers in my last article of the year.
New Contract Awards
On 12 August 2026, MedservRegis plc announced that it has been awarded two new contracts: one for the provision of logistics and support services in Mozambique and another for a pilot Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) project in Saudi Arabia.
Medserv explained that the Mozambique contract was awarded for a period of two years by a leading international engineering and drilling contractor which is already a client of the Group in other markets. Medserv stated that while the contract value is not material in the context of the Group, the award is strategically significant as it strengthens the Group’s presence in Mozambique and supports its growth ambitions across sub-Saharan Africa.
Elsewhere, the pilot VMI project in Saudi Arabia could develop into a larger scope of work, subject to successful implementation. Medserv explained that this represents an important opportunity to expand its supply chain management services in the country.
Middle East Business Update
Medserv explained that recent geopolitical developments in the region have disrupted shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, which has constrained Iraq’s ability to export oil and reduced activity levels within the country’s oil and gas sector. While the Group’s operations in Iraq continue uninterrupted, activity levels have been temporarily affected since the beginning of the third quarter of 2026, which management considers primarily attributable to the export disruption rather than to any deterioration in the underlying demand for the Group’s services.
In response, management implemented cost containment measures, including workforce and compensation adjustments and the temporary redeployment of resources to other Middle East operations. Medserv stated that these actions have left the business with a leaner cost base while retaining the capacity to serve the anticipated recovery in activity.
Meanwhile, the Group’s machine shop services contract with its main customer in Iraq, which was due to expire in September 2026, has been extended. MedservRegis was also recently awarded a new three-year contract for the same services in the country.
Medserv noted that a broader update on the Group’s trading performance and outlook will be provided with the forthcoming publication of its interim financial statements for the six-month period ended 30 June 2026.
