Following last week's article detailing the performance of the S&P 500 index in 2025, it is worth devoting time to review the developments across the European equity markers in my last article of the year.

On 24 June 2026, Tumas Investments plc published an updated Financial Analysis Summary. The following are the main highlights of the expected financial performance and position of Spinola Development Company Limited (the Guarantor) for 2026:

  • Revenues are expected to increase by 7.0% to €58.2 million as the Group expects higher income from hotel operations (€45.7 million compared to €44.6 million in 2025), increased rentals (€6.3 million compared to €5.5 million in 2025), and higher revenue from complex management (€5.1 million compared to €4.2 million in 2025), together with a contribution of €1.1 million from property development on the sale of one of the two remaining apartments.
  • EBITDA is expected to increase by 10.9% to €23.0 million reflecting revenue growth and operational efficiencies. As a result, the EBITDA margin is anticipated to improve to 39.6% compared to 38.2% in 2025.
  • Net finance costs are expected to decrease to €1.1 million from €1.3 million in 2025, reflecting lower finance costs. As a result of the higher EBITDA and lower finance costs, the interest cover is expected to improve to 21.4 times, compared to 16.2 times in 2025.
  • Total borrowings are projected to remain broadly unchanged at €34.8 million (2025: €35.1 million). The gearing ratio (calculated as total debt divided by total debt plus equity) is expected to ease marginally to 17.5% from 18.3% in 2025.
  • When accounting for cash, treasury bills balance of around €30 million, the net borrowings of the Group as at the end of 2026 are anticipated at €4.8 million, which translate into a net debt to EBITDA multiple of just over 0.2 times.
  • The permit for the development of the Halland site was revoked earlier in 2026 and works were halted. Consequently, SDC entered into a promise-of-sale agreement to transfer the Halland Site to the parent at a price structured so that SDC incurs no adverse financial impact from the permit revocation.
