We however understand that over the course of our business relationship you may have a complaint in relation to a product or investment service provided by Rizzo Farrugia & Co (Stockbrokers) Limited, referred to as “Rizzo Farrugia” or “Us”.  The  below details how you may lodge a complaint in relation to any of our product/s or services.

How to submit a complaint

You may lodge a complaint in either Maltese or English as follows:

Complaints may be submitted in English or Maltese. Complaints are handled free of charge.

Verbal complaints are accepted; however, you may be asked to confirm such details in writing. Nevertheless, any verbal complaints remain valid even where written confirmation is not provided.

Information to include in your complaint

When filing a complaint, you are requested to provide the following information to enable us to investigate your complaint effectively:

  • Name and Surname, identification details and contact information.
  • Details of your complaint, including the product or investment service,
  • Details of any Rizzo Farrugia representative involved;
  • The nature of the complaint and the basis upon which you believe you have a grounds complaint;
  • Any claims, losses suffered or what expected outcome you are seeking; and
  • Any relevant supporting documentation.

How we handle complaints

We have a Complaints Handling Policy in place to ensure that complaints are dealt with in a fairly, and timely manner. 

We are committed to ensuring fair treatment of complainants and to achieving fair, reasonable and timely outcomes through objective and evidence-based decision making, transparent communication and consistent application of our complaints handling policy.

Complaints handling process

We aim to send you an acknowledgement in writing or by email within two (2) business days.

Upon receipt of a complaint, we will:

  • acknowledge receipt of the complaint;
  • assess and investigate the matter impartially;
  • gather and review relevant information and evidence;
  • determine the outcome of the complaint; and
  • communicate our findings and decision in writing.

We are required to reply to you within fifteen (15) business days from receipt of your complaint. If for some reason, the investigation of your complaint is not concluded within fifteen (15) business days, we will inform you of the reasons for any delay as well as advise you of the date by when any investigation is expected to be completed, and a reply sent to you.  

We will investigate your complaint promptly, fairly, and objectively. Complaints are investigated independently by our Compliant Handlers.

Our response will seek to indicate a summary of your complaint, an explanation of our findings, the reasons for any decisions, and the outcome of the complaint, including any remedial actions.

Managing of conflict of interest

We have a Conflict-of-Interest Policy in place that aims to identify and manage any conflicts of interest, including when handling and investigating a complaint.

Continuous improvement

We analyse complaints to identify any root causes with a view to continue to improve our customer centric service proposition and we remain most committed to continue to treat our Clients fairly.

Escalation to the Office of the Arbiter for Financial Services

You have a right to escalate your complaint to the Office of the Arbiter for Financial Services should your complaint not be resolved to your satisfaction, as follows:
