On 16 May, the Treasury published a Prospectus in respect of the issue of 2 new Malta Government Stocks for a total aggregate amount of €100 million and an over-allotment option of up to a further €50 million.
Proceeds from the issue will be used for general funding purposes of the Government of Malta and to refinance the redemption of the €23.3 million 7.2% MGS 2008 on 10 June.
The 2 new fungible stocks are:
(i) 5.1% MGS 2014 (III) at a price to be determined on Friday 23 May (this existing stock last traded on the secondary market at €103.00 for every €100);
(ii) 5.0% MGS 2021 (I) at a price to be determined on Friday 23 May (this existing stock last traded on the secondary market at €100 for every €100).
Subscriptions open on Monday 26 May and close on Friday 30 May.
The General Public has the possibility of applying in any of the issues at up to a maximum amount of €100,000 (nominal) per application. For applications in excess of €100,000 (nominal), a tendering process applies.
