Government of Malta - Results of Malta Government Stock Issues

On 13 March the Treasury announced that it received a total of 3,567 applications for the two new Malta Government Stock issues for a value exceeding €242 million. The Treasury issued two stocks for a total of €70 million with the option of increasing the aggregate amount by up to an additional €25 million.

The Treasury announced that it allotted a total of €95 million (nominal) as follows: €59 million in the 3.6% MGS 2013 (IV) and €36 million in the 5.00% MGS 2021 (I).

Subscriptions from the General Public at the fixed prices established by the Treasury amounted to €55.3 million split up as follows: €19.4 million in the 3.6% MGS 2013 (IV) and €36 million in the 5.00% MGS 2021 (I).
Meanwhile €39.6 million was allotted to institutional investors in the 3.6% MGS 2013 (IV) at prices from 101.46% to 102.10% compared to the fixed offer price of 100%. Other tenders totalling €130.8 million remained unsatisfied. In the 5.0% MGS 2021 (I), tenders for a total of €16.7 million were all unsuccessful.
