The 2010 half-year results of Plaza Centres plc were published on Wednesday 28 July 2010.
During the first six months of the year, the Company’s turnover increased by 2.3% to €1 million. Plaza generated a profit after tax of €416,539 representing a 0.4% increase over the first half of 2009. Occupancy levels for the period declined to 92% from the 99% level in the first six months of 2009 partly as a result of the reorganisation of space due to the new extension which is currently being constructed as well as a decline in office rental. The Directors however explained that indications show that occupancy levels should increase during the fourth quarter of the year.
Similar to last year, no interim dividend was declared.
The Directors also stated that the development of the company’s new extension in Bisazza Lane is expected to be completed in early 2011 as planned and although the Group remains attentive to external market factors, no significant change is anticipated in the company’s performance.
