Malta International Airport plc - November Traffic Results
On 11 December 2024, Malta International Airport plc announced that it welcomed 630,637 passengers during November 2024, an increase of 19.2% compared to the corresponding month last year. Passenger movements exceeded their relative 2023 figures for the eleventh consecutive month.
The seat load factor also improved by 0.7 percentage points to 85.6%, despite an increase of 18.3% in seat capacity over the same month in 2023.
MIA stated that Italy (+9.6% year-on-year) remained the most popular destination, with a market share of 20%, followed by the United Kingdom (+16.7%). Meanwhile, the Polish market grew by 56% year-over-year to overtake Germany and Spain as the airport’s third most popular destination.
The passenger movements during the eleven-month period ended November 2024 amounted to 8.37 million, 15.0% higher than the passenger traffic recorded in the same period last year. The airport operator stated that the 8 million passenger milestone was reached for the first time in the airport’s history on 12 November 2024.
