Santumas climbs to four-month high
Following last week's article detailing the performance of the S&P 500 index in 2025, it is worth devoting time to review the developments across the European equity markers in my last article of the year.
The MSE Equity Price Index advanced by 0.20% to 4,217.8 points as the gains in Santumas, GO, HSBC, and The Convenience Shop outweighed the decline in MIA. A further five equities closed unchanged as total trading value fell back to below €50,000. Download today’s Equity Market Summary.
Santumas Shareholdings plc was the most actively traded equity as it climbed by 3.3% to a four-month high of €1.24 across 20,457 shares. Today, RS2 plc announced that Inter Pag, the merchant acquiring business of Banco Inter in Brazil, has selected the ACI Acquiring Platform, incorporating back-office card management capabilities powered by RS2. The solution will be delivered jointly by ACI Worldwide and RS2 under the partnership the two companies established in the Brazilian market in 2024. Inter Pag serves more than 100,000 small and medium-sized businesses across Brazil.
The RF MGS Index rose marginally to 891.3 points as euro area government bond yields eased. The European Central Bank’s own indicator of negotiated wages showed pay growth slowing to 2.44% in the second quarter from 2.56% in the first. Meanwhile in the US, business activity surged in August to the highest level since April 2022 according to data from S&P Global, driven by services growth which outweighed the slowdown in manufacturing.
