Daily Market Highlights (02.06.10)

  • Negative performance of the local equity market persists as the MSE Share Index closes lower for the seventh successive session. Index edges marginally lower this morning to close at 3,474.231 points as HSBC’s 0.3% drop outweighed BOV’s minimal increase. Download a copy of today’s Equity Market Summary.
  • Yesterday both Simonds Farsons Cisk plc and Eden Finance plc closed their respective bond offerings due to oversubscription. The issuers will publish their respective allocation policies in the next few days.
  • HSBC trades lower for the fifth consecutive session with the share price easing a further 0.3% to close at the €2.97 level. Low volumes of only 3,200 shares exchanged today with best bids in the market at €2.95 whilst further offers remain unsatisfied at the closing price.
  • Meanwhile BOV edges minimally higher to close at the €3.282 level across 16 trades amounting to 10,279 shares. Other bids outstanding at the closing price whilst lowest offers placed at the €3.285 level.
  • A single trade of 400 Medserv shares transacted at the equity’s all-time high of €4.30, unchanged from the previous close. No outstanding bids in sight with a further 9,600 shares remaining on offer at the last traded price.
  • MIA effects 2-for-1 share split. The Company’s total issued number of shares now amounts to 135.3 million. However share price fails to readjust as no trades were effected during this morning’s session.
