Daily Market Highlights (15.10.09)

  • MSE Share Index back into positive territory with a 0.4% increase to 3,162.579 points as BOV reverses some of yesterday’s decline. Meanwhile all other active equities closed unchanged.   • Following yesterday’s 6.2% decline, BOV’s share price rises 1.9% to close today’s session at the €3.25 level. 10,700 shares exchanged today with further bids outstanding at the closing price and lowest offers now placed at €3.33. The Bank is shortly expected to announce the date of its full-year results publication as at 30 September 2009.
  • Meanwhile HSBC trades unchanged at the €2.80 level after edging higher in each of the past four successive sessions. 7,132 shares change hands this morning with best bids in the market at the €2.77 level whilst few other offers remain outstanding at the last trade price.
  • GO also closes unchanged at the €1.56 level after touching an intra-day low of €1.551. Four trades amounting to 4,300 shares transacted this morning. The newspaper article published today titled “GO’s Greek investment hits the headlines again” is available for download.
  • Lombard maintains the €2.50 level on a single trade of 5,000 shares. Further offers remaining unsatisfied at the closing price with best bids placed at the €2.45 level.
  • A single trade of 3,000 FIMBank shares transacted at the US$1.20 level, unchanged from the previous close.
  • The 6.5% IHG plc 2017-19 bonds maintain the 101% level as a further €2,000 (nom) are exchanged. Also the 6.25% IHI plc 2015-19 bonds continue to trade at par with high volumes of €54,700 (nom) traded this morning.
  • On the other hand the recently listed bonds of Corinthia Finance plc and Melita Capital plc have yet to commence trading.
