Daily Market Highlights (24.11.10)

  • MSE Share Index unchanged today at 3,505.841 points as all six active equities retain their previous closing level. Lowest monthly trading value of €60,670 registered today as impact of recent company announcements wanes.  Download a copy of today’s Equity Market Summary.
  • Pre-placement of MIDI plc’s share issue to be held on Friday 26 November. The Company is issuing 44,444,444 shares at a price of €0.45 per share with an over-allotment option of up to a further 22,222,222 shares. Further details available here.
  • BOV unchanged at the €3.70 for the seventh consecutive session. Eleven trades totalling 10,860 shares transacted this morning with further offers unsatisfied at the closing price. Investors acquiring BOV shares until 7 January 2011 will be entitled to the 1 for 5 bonus issue. Details of September 2010 financial results available here.
  • HSBC recovers from an intra-day low of €2.93 to close at the €2.95 level – no change from the previous close. 3,340 shares exchanged today with further offers outstanding at the last traded price whilst best bids now placed at the €2.93 level. Recently the Bank published its Interim Directors’ Statement explaining that the positive trend of the first half of the year was maintained during the subsequent months.   • In contrast to the high volumes traded over the past two sessions, only 1,752 FIMBank shares exchanged today as the share price held on to the US$0.93 level. Last Friday afternoon, FIMBank reported that the voting and other rights over 35 million shares in the Bank held by Massaleh Investments shall be exercisable exclusively by Burgan Bank of Kuwait.
  • GO holds onto the €1.90 level across two trades totalling 2,466 shares.  No official announcement as yet published by the Greek telecoms Group Forthnet with respect to the abnormal volumes traded in recent days. During yesterday’s trading session on the Athens Stock Exchange, 9.6 million shares traded, equivalent to 6% of the total issued share capital of the company.
  • MIA and Lombard again unchanged also on low volumes. A single trade of just 200 MIA shares transacted at the €1.648 level with Lombard maintaining the €2.65 level across two trades amounting to 1,700 shares.
