M&Z equity dominates trading activity

 

The MSE Equity Price Index fell by 0.04% to 3,860.642 points as the declines in APS, MIDI, LifeStar Insurance, HSBC and Trident outweighed the gains in Hili Properties, Malita, M&Z and Simonds Farsons Cisk. M&Z plc was today’s most actively traded equity as it gained 1.7% to reach the €0.60 level across twenty-three trades with a total market value of €0.31 million. Last week, M&Z announced that it will be implementing its share buyback program through which it intends to acquire 500,000 of its own shares in the market at a price of €0.60 per share between Monday 4 November 2024 and until Friday 29 November 2024.  Completed acquisitions of its own shares will be reported to the market in due course.

Malita Investments plc surged by 4.9% to the €0.54 level on a single deal of 4,750 shares.

Hili Properties plc gained 1.8% to the €0.23 level over four deals amounting to 99,000 shares.

Simonds Farsons Cisk plc moved 2.3% higher to the €6.80 level on minimal activity.

On the other hand, APS Bank plc decreased by 1.7% to the €0.57 level over three trades amounting to 11,020 shares.

Also in the banking sector, HSBC Bank Malta plc fell by 0.7% to the €1.45 level across four deals amounting to 17,064 shares.

MIDI plc slumped by 4.2% to the €0.23 level as 10,000 shares changed hands.

Also in the property sector, Trident Estates plc plummeted by 8.0% to the €1.03 level on two deals amounting to 1,214 shares.

LifeStar Insurance plc moved 4.1% lower to the €0.47 level on muted activity.

Meanwhile, Bank of Valletta plc held the €1.78 level on one trade of 2,809 shares.

GO plc and Malta International Airport plc closed unchanged at the €2.80 and €5.95 levels respectively over trivial volumes

The RF MGS Index fell by 0.06% to a fresh two-month low of 907.851 points as eurozone yields edged higher given the uncertainty related to the outcome of the US election being held today.
