RS2 ordinary shares drop to 10-year low
The MSE Equity Price Index fell by 0.74% to 3,708.897 points reflecting the declines in the ordinary and preference shares of RS2, HSBC, and IHI. The ordinary shares of RS2 plc slumped by 8.0% to an over 10-year low of €0.46 on a single deal of 2,249 shares.
The preference shares of RS2 plc moved 2.0% lower to the €0.49 on one trade of 4,242 shares.
International Hotel Investments plc shed 1.0% to the €0.416 level across four deals amounting to 10,647 shares.
Also among large companies by market value, HSBC Bank Malta plc fell by 4.2% to the €1.36 level as 1,200 shares changed hands.
Most of today’s trading value was across the shares of Malta International Airport plc which traded flat at the €6.20 level over seven trades totalling 11,030 shares.
Bank of Valletta plc closed unchanged at the €1.72 level across eight deals amounting to 9,694 shares.
Malta Properties Company plc held the €0.36 level on trivial volumes.
The RF MGS Index eased by 0.06% to 910.308 points. Data released today showed that the number of Americans filing for unemployment last week was at six-week high, exceeding expectations. Furthermore, the total outstanding unemployment claims rose to about 1.9 million which is the highest figure since November 2021.
