Five Equities push MSE Equity Price Index higher
Following last week's article detailing the performance of the S&P 500 index in 2025, it is worth devoting time to review the developments across the European equity markers in my last article of the year.
The MSE Equity Price Index rose by 0.3% to 4,118.3 points as the gains in the ordinary and preference shares of RS2, BMIT, MIA and BOV outweighed the declines in Farsons, FIMBank and Computime. Meanwhile, six equities closed unchanged as today’s total trading activity amounted to €0.41 million. Download today’s Equity Market Summary.
Bank of Valletta plc advanced by 0.5% to the €2.07 level across seven trades totalling 27,139 shares.
The ordinary shares of RS2 plc advanced by 18.0% to the €0.50 level albeit trading at a weighted average price of €0.46 across eight deals amounting to 125,500 shares.
Similarly, the preference shares of RS2 plc surged by 35.1% to the €0.70 level albeit trading at a weighted average price of €0.475 across two trades totalling 1,250 shares.

Meanwhile, APS Bank plc traded flat at the €0.58 level across four trades totalling 13,150 shares.
Hili Properties plc remained unchanged at the €0.27 level across thirty-one deals amounting to 718,917 shares.
HSBC Bank Malta plc closed unchanged at the €1.43 level on muted activity.
International Hotel Investments plc closed unchanged at the €0.59 level across eight deals amounting to 52,000 shares.
Lombard Bank Malta plc closed unchanged at the €0.72 level on two trades totalling 1,924 shares.
MaltaPost plc held the €0.50 level over trivial volumes.
The RF MGS Index rose by 0.18% to 897.655 points amid concerns about the economy in the euro area. In this respect, data released today showed that private-sector activity in Germany is expected to contract for the third consecutive month in June, and at the sharpest pace since December 2024. The potential downturn reflects renewed weakness in services activity, subdued underlying demand, and a weakening labour market.
