Daily Market Highlights (19.06.2020)

Lacklustre activity across several equities

 

The MSE Equity Price Index climbed by 0.19% to 4,027.167 points as several equities ended the day unchanged whilst BOV and FIMBank were the only equities that performed positively. Download a copy of today’s Equity Market Summary.

Among today’s positively performing equities, FIMBank plc climbed by 2.5% to the USD0.41 level across 10,000 shares.

Bank of Valletta plc edged 0.5% higher as it ended the week at the €1.015 level across 17,153 shares.

Also in the banking sector, Lombard Bank Malta plc traded flat at the €2.02 across trivial volumes. 

International Hotel Investments plc closed unchanged at the €0.56 level across 2,687 shares after failing to hold onto an intraday high of €0.585 (+4.5%). IHI’s 2019 financial statements will be published on 26 June.

Also among the larger equities, Malta International Airport plc retained the €5.80 level as 2,405 shares changed hands whilst RS2 Software plc closed flat at the €2.40 level across 1,110 shares.

Meanwhile, a single trade in MIDI plc left the equity unchanged at the €0.37 level. Yesterday, MIDI reiterated its commitment to the Manoel Island project, after on Wednesday, the Environment and Planning Review Tribunal revoked the permit granted to it by the Planning Authority on 20 March 2019.

Also in the property segment, Malita Investments plc held on to the €0.895 level across insignificant volumes.

Elsewhere, BMIT Technologies plc traded flat at the €0.49 across a single trade of 8,000 shares.

The RF MGS Index trended higher for the second day in succession with a minimal increase to 1,097.895 points. For the first time, today, EU leaders are discussing the €750 billion recovery fund proposed by the European Commission in order to overcome the coronavirus crisis.
