Simonds Farsons Cisk plc - Interim Directors’ Statement

On 17 June Simonds Farsons Cisk plc issued its Interim Directors’ Statement stating that since the start of their financial year on 1 February 2009, trading conditions remained challenging and Group turnover declined marginally when compared to that in the comparable period last year.

However, the Directors noted that the various measures of cost containment taken by management has offset the shortfalls in revenues and to date, targeted results are close to being attained. Depending on the Group’s sales performance during the early summer months, the Directors remain cautiously optimistic that the operational profit for the half year ending 31 July 2009 will be better than that reported in the same period last year whilst they remain satisfied with the performance of all other segments of the Group.
