Malta International Airport plc - November Traffic Results

On 6 December 2019, Malta International Airport plc announced its November traffic results revealing an 8.7% increase in passenger movements to 493,201 passengers on the back of an 8.5% increase in aircraft movements and 10.1% growth in seat capacity. Meanwhile, the seat load factor eased to 78.1% compared to 79.2% in the same month last year. The Company noted that the growth registered during the month under review ranks as one of the strongest monthly year-to-date increases which augurs well for MIA’s strategy of stimulating further traffic growth in the off-peak months.

The top five markets all registered growth with the exception of the UK and German markets with declines of 1% and 7.4% respectively. Meanwhile, Spain posted a 23.2% increase and the number of passengers from France grew by 19.2% whilst the Italian market registered a 4.3% increase.

January – November 2019
