Daily Market Highlights (05.07.10)

  • MSE Share Index edges 0.4% lower during this morning’s session to close at 3,346.438 points as BOV and Lombard decline. Meanwhile the three other active equities close unchanged. Download a copy of today’s Equity Market Summary.
  • Following last week’s 2.9% drop, BOV trades lower for the seventh successive session. Share price down a further 1.6% today to close at €3.00 – its lowest level since 10 December 2009. Just over 12,000 shares change hands today with further bids unsatisfied at the closing price whilst lowest offers now pitched at the €3.20 level.
  • Meanwhile HSBC maintains the €2.83 level after briefly touching an intra-day high of €2.84. Eleven trades amounting to 11,075 shares executed this morning with best bids now at €2.801 whilst lowest offers still pitched at the €2.88 level.
  • Lombard Bank shares active for the first time in almost two weeks. Equity down 0.5% to close at the €2.885 level on a single trades of 1,032 shares.
  • A single trade of 1,250 IHI shares transacted at the €0.80 level, unchanged from the previous close. Best bids still in the market at €0.75 whilst other offers remined unsatisfied at the closing price.
  • Simonds Farsons Cisk also unchanged at the €1.80 level on a thin trade of 861 shares. Further bids outstanding at the last traded price whilst lowest offers placed substantially higher at the €2.00 level.
  • A further €6,000 (nominal) of the recently listed 5.35% Izola Bank plc Secured Notes 2015 exchanged at par during this morning’s session. No bids in the market with lowest offers amounting to €10,000 (nominal) at the 100.50% level. Fact sheet on these Secured Notes is available here.
  • Tumas Investments plc is shortly expected to announce the allocation policy with respect to the recent 6.2% Tumas Investments plc 2017 – 2020 Bond Issue.
