MSE Equity Price Index drops below the 4,700 mark

 

The MSE Equity Price Index opened the week in negative territory as it slipped by 0.6% to 4,685.923 points. Four equities trended lower, including BOV and IHI, whilst a further three shares closed the day unchanged. Trading volumes contracted to €0.21 million from €0.34 million last Friday. Bank of Valletta plc shed 2.2% back to the €1.35 level across 29,517 shares.

Also among the large companies, International Hotel Investments plc lost 2% to the €0.75 level on activity totalling 35,000 shares.

Medserv plc also performed negatively today with a drop of 3.6% to the €1.06 level on two deals totalling 20,000 shares.

BMIT Technologies plc eased by 0.9% to the €0.53 level across 51,696 shares.

Meanwhile, PG plc held on to its fifteen-month high of €1.43 on a total of 45,000 shares.

A single deal of 10,000 shares left the equity of Mapfre Middlesea plc at the €2.36 level. Shareholders as at close of trading on 30 April will be eligible to receive an ordinary net dividend of €0.0978 per share and a special net dividend of €0.08696 per share.

GO plc traded unchanged at the €4.86 level albeit on trivial volumes. The equity is still trading with the entitlement to total net dividends of €0.55 per share.

The Board of Directors of Main Street Complex plc is scheduled to meet today to consider and approve the 2018 annual financial statements. The Directors will also consider recommending a final dividend.

The RF MGS Index extended last Friday’s rebound by a further 0.12% to 1,113.227 points. Bond yields in the euro area moved lower amid a contraction in German imports and exports during the month of February. Furthermore, an index gauging the level of investor confidence across the single currency economy remained in negative territory.
