MSE Equity Price Index moves lower on minimal activity

 

The MSE Equity Price Index declined by 0.28% to 3,866.249 points as all the four equities that traded today ended lower. Equity trading activity was muted at €0.08 million. Download today’s Equity Market Summary.

BMIT Technologies plc ended 3.6% lower at €0.48 across 16 trades totalling 139,183 shares.

Similarly, Harvest Technology plc lost 4.5% to the €1.48 level on two deals totalling 5,865 shares. Harvest shareholders as at close of trading on 12 August will receive a net interim dividend of €0.024 per share by not later than Tuesday 24 August 2021.

Trident Estates plc was today’s worst performing equity as it slumped by 5.7% to the €1.48 level on two trades totalling 1,841 shares.

Also in the property sector, Malta Properties Company plc dropped by 3.6% to the €0.53 level on a single deal of 2,000 shares.

The RF MGS Index moved higher for the second consecutive day with a 0.06% increase to 1,104.943 points as the MGS yield curve continued to flatten. The German producer price index for July exceeded expectations and surged by 10.4% from a year earlier amid upward pressures from energy and intermediate products, but also reflecting a low base effect from last year. Elsewhere in the UK, retail sales volumes for July where 2.5% lower than the previous month, well below forecasts of 0.4% growth. Meanwhile, crude oil prices moved lower for the 7th consecutive day to a 3-month low amid global recovery concerns.
