Trident Estates plc - Profile

Trident was established in October 2000 as a wholly-owned subsidiary and the property management arm of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc (“Farsons”). In January 2018, Trident was spun-off from Farsons, thus embarking on an independent journey aiming at establishing Trident as a leading developer and provider of commercial space in Malta.

The property portfolio of Trident includes a diversified mix of redevelopment opportunities that are expected to yield long-term capital growth (namely, the redevelopment of the Brewery Façade into “Trident Park”, as well as the redevelopment of Trident House in the longer term), together with mature properties that generate an ongoing rental income stream (most of which are rented out to Farsons and its other subsidiaries).

Following the approval by the Board of the Planning Authority on 7 December 2017 for the creation of Trident Park, Trident will initiate redevelopment works to this project immediately after the conclusion of the spin-off process. Trident Park is expected to take three years to complete with a total development cost of around €45 million. It will involve the conversion of an old bottling factory and stores into a state-of-the-art complex housing over 15,000 sqm of office space and conference facilities as well as a multi-level car park for approximately 700 cars.

On the other hand, Trident has not yet determined the best possible outcome for Trident House and its extensive surrounding land which, in aggregate, cover an area of 13,215 sqm.

Share Capital

Trident Estates plc has an issued share capital of 30,000,000 shares which were distributed to shareholders of Farsons as at the close of trading on 19 December 2017 on a 1 for 1 basis. The shares were subsequently admitted to the Official List of the Malta Stock Exchange on Tuesday 30 January 2018.
