MSE Equity Price Index closes at a fresh one-year high

 

The MSE Equity Price Index gained 0.34% to end the week at a fresh one-year high of 3,791.395 points driven by gains in APS, MIA and Tigné Mall. Meanwhile, two equities closed unchanged as the total trading activity amounted to €0.25 million. Download today’s Equity Market Summary.

Tigné Mall plc surged by 18.7% to close off the week at the €0.795 level. Albeit only on a single trade, Tigné Mall’s equity was today’s most actively traded with 245,200 shares changing hands, accounting for over 75% of the value of trades which were executed today.

Malta International Airport plc gained 0.9% to close at the €5.60 level across two trades totalling 1,175 shares. MIA is set to release its interim results for the first six months of 2023 on Tuesday 1 August.

Likewise, APS Bank plc moved 1.7% higher to the €0.61 level, after recovering from an intra-day low of €0.59 (-1.7%) over twelve trades totalling 53,102 shares. APS is set to release its half-yearly results this Thursday 27 July.

Meanwhile, PG plc traded flat at its four-month high of €2.04 on a single deal of 2,215 shares.

Similarly, Lombard Bank Malta plc held the €0.90 level over two trades totalling 10,000 shares.

The RF MGS Index further declined by 0.22% to 870.938 points largely reflecting the recent rebound in secondary market yields as better-than-expected unemployment data in the US fuelled fears regarding inflation.
